Earlier in June, testing and certification service provider Element celebrated the grand opening of its $10 million connected technologies lab in the UK. The event took place at the Element Surrey Hills location close to Guildford in southern England.
During the open day, attendees, which included customers, suppliers, technical experts, and special guests such as Lord Jamie Lindsay, Chair of UKAS; Jonathan Lord, MP for Woking; and representatives from the Surrey Chambers of Commerce, participated in an official ribbon-cutting ceremony, a guided tour of the facility, and expert demonstrations.
The 25,000 square-foot, purpose-built facility is intended to foster innovation in consumer electronics, medical devices, and the wireless sector across Europe and beyond. The site enhances Element’s capacity for EMC, radio, and wireless testing and introduces Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) testing to its European service offerings.
This new laboratory complements Element’s existing 44 Connected Technologies and Mobility facilities in the UK, USA, Germany, South Korea, and Japan, as well as its team of over 1,200 technology experts. Element’s Connected Technologies and Mobility services cover a wide range of sectors, including mobile and cellular devices, consumer electronics, the Internet of Things (IoT), telecommunications regulatory services, medical devices, and automotive, among others.
