GTG Group works with global partners to provide you with comprehensive IPv6 testing & certification services, helping you achieve IPv6 Ready Logo.
With the rapid development of the internet, IPv6 has become a new driving force for enhancing innovation and value. According to relevant data, there are as many as 767.4 million active IPv6 internet users in China, accounting for 71.92% of the total. This means that an increasing number of users and devices are beginning to rely on IPv6 for network connections. For the nation, the large-scale deployment and application of IPv6 is an inevitable trend in the evolution and upgrading of the internet, effectively promoting the enhancement of China’s international competitiveness in the next-generation internet field and increasing its technological discourse power in the internet domain. Therefore, the state encourages relevant large-scale bidding projects to consider the IPv6 certification as an important bonus item.
IPv6: a new stage for innovation and value Enhancement
The popularity of IPv6 is not only due to its provision of more IP addresses but also because it brings more efficient and secure network connections. IPv6 can support more device connections, improve network performance, enhance security and privacy protection, reduce network latency, and support the development of mobile internet, all of which present significant business opportunities for manufacturers.
The development history of IPv6 in China
China’s IPv6 development can be traced back to 2003 when the CNGI (China Next Generation Internet) demonstration project was launched to promote the research and application of IPv6. In 2017, the State Council issued the “Action Plan for Promoting the Large-scale Deployment of Internet Protocol Version 6 (IPv6),” further accelerating the pace of IPv6 popularization. As of now, the number of IPv6 users and coverage in China is gradually increasing.
Which products need to be IPv6 certified?
Almost all networked products need to undergo IPv6 certification, including but not limited to:
- Data communication equipment: routers, switches, servers, storage devices, access points, etc.;
- Network security products: boundary security, cryptographic security, data security, computing security, terminal security, etc.;
- Smart IoT terminal products: automotive smart terminals, smart cameras, smart service robots, satellite link devices, tablets, mobile phones, PDAs, POS machines, etc.
Certification process for IPv6:
- Submit an application form;
- Prepare a prototype (one prototype per model);
- Test for consistency and interoperability;
- Issue a test report;
- Submit for review;
- A unique certification ID will be generated and the IPv6 Ready certificate will be issued.
Please note that networking products exported to Malaysia must be IPv6 certified, and our test reports are recognized in Malaysia.
