Summary

The primary function of the Wireless Test Engineer will be to focus on conducting compliance testing. Responsibilities include setup, measure, and document test results and interface with customers on a daily basis. The ideal candidate will possess an firm understanding of the following standards: ETSI EN 301-489, EN 300 328, EN 301 893, EN 300 220/330/440, EN302 502, ANSI C63.10, RSS-GEN. FCC Part 15, 22, 24, 27, 90; LP0002.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for performing Radio and EMC testing including wireless communications products according to CE and FCC standards.
  • Provide consultant services for RF regulatory (e.g. CE/ FCC/ ISED) related questions internally and externally.
  • Support radio frequency regulatory (e.g. CE/ FCC/ ISED) related tests and draft test plans/reports.
  • Support quality works of laboratory in regard to general maintenance, calibration, working instructions, etc.
  • Function as the coordinating interface by tracking and communicating RF related projects.

Qualifications & Requirements

Knowledge, Skill, & Abilities

  • Good knowledge/operational skills on RF regulatory (CE/ FCC/ ISED) test equipment
  • Good knowledge of Japan, KCC and Taiwan RF regulatory testing
  • Good knowledge on RF laboratory services preferably within the TIC industry
  • At least 2 years working experience in the RF regulatory (CE/ FCC/ ISED) related field
  • Experience using lab test equipment including spectrum analyzer, power meters, communication tester (CMW 500) etc.
  • Experience with WiFi, BT, BLE, Zigbee, Thread, RFID, LoRa, transmitters.
  • Experience with CDMA/WCDMA, GSM/EDGE, LTE, 5GNR transmit components is desired.
  • Familiar with ISO 17025 quality system and general understanding of standard explanation
  • Test automation using communication protocols including GPIB, USB, TCP-IP.

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or 4 Years of equivalent work experience required.

Experience

  • Computer literacy required including Microsoft Office applications.
  • EMC 32, Elektra, WMC 32, BAT EMC, WMS 32
  • Minimum of 2 Years related experience in RF regulatory (CE/ FCC/ ISED)

Certifications

  • TCB certification a plus

Physical Demands & Work Environment

  • Work may be sedentary, sitting for long periods of time, working at a computer.
  • Physical effort may require lifting up to mediumup to 50 pounds.
  • Will work in a lab environment.
