1. 80 Plus certification
The 80 Plus certification is a standard developed by Ecos Consulting, now owned by the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI), to promote energy efficiency in PSUs. The certification program tests the PSUs' efficiency at different loads and rates them based on their efficiency. The ratings range from 80 Plus (minimum efficiency of 80%) to 80 Plus Titanium (minimum efficiency of 94%). The certification is voluntary, and PSU manufacturers can submit their products for testing to get certified.
2. Benefits of 80 Plus certification

3. Different levels of 80 Plus certification
The 80 Plus certification measures the efficiency of a power supply by testing how much energy is lost during the conversion of AC power from the wall outlet to DC power that is used by the computer. For example, if a power supply is 80% efficient, it means that 80% of the power it draws from the electrical outlet is used to power the computer, and the remaining 20% is lost as heat. The certification has different levels, with the most efficient being 80 Plus Titanium, followed by 80 Plus Platinum, Gold, Silver, Bronze, and White. The higher the certification level, the more efficient the power supply is.
