Electrical and electronic products usually need to meet three standards:

• TR CU 004/2011: safety of low voltage equipment;
• TR CU 020/2011: technical regulation on electromagnetic compatibility (EMC);
• EAEU TR 037/2016: restrictions on the use of electrically hazardous substances in electronic products (RoHS).

Generally, the first two standards are to apply for an EAC CoC (certificate of conformity), and the standard EAEU TR 037 is to apply for an EAC DoC (declaration of conformity).

• Select a certification body;
• Submit the required documentation to the certification body;
• Choose a factory inspection method: to provide a CIG 023 factory inspection report or video factory inspection;
• A draft certificate will be issued by the certification body;
• Send a test sample to the certification body if requested;
• An EAC certificate will be issued after all the procedures are done.

The holder of EAC certificate can only be the company of the Eurasian Economic Union member states. The foreign company can only be listed in the EAC certificate as manufacturer or factory.

The validity period of EAC certificate can be a single batch or choose from 1 to 5 years. Usually electronic and electrical products will apply for 5 years validity period. Once the EAC certificate has issued, it can not be updated unless re-apply for a new certificate.
