1. METI filing
Products that are exported to Japan and have applied for PSE certification are required to be filed with METI (Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry)。
Japan’s DENTORL Law (Electrical Device and Material Control Law) stipulates that 457 products must obtain PSE safety certification to enter the Japanese market. The regulation requires that Japanese purchasers must register and declare to METI in Japan within one month after purchasing goods, and must mark the purchaser's name or ID on the products for supervision and management in the future product sales process.
At present, there is no mandatory METI requirement for customs clearance. Only Amazon Japan requires merchants to provide METI filing and PSE certification.

- Notification of business – a declaration by the Japanese importer, including manufacturer information, product information and signing date;
- The approval certificate issued by the METI. The importer must submit the PSE sub-certificate to METI for filing;
- Japanese importer must file for METI filing within one month after importing the goods (a business agency registered in Japan is required).
