1. TEC certification
TEC stands for Telecommunication Engineering Center and is an Indian certification that is required for importing and selling telecommunication products in India. TEC certification is mandatory for all products that fall under the scope of the Indian Telegraph Act, 1885, including all types of telecom equipment.
2. More about TEC certification
TEC certification is divided into two categories: interface approval and type approval
- Interface approval is based on Interface Requirements (IR) standards issued by TEC
- Type approval is based on Generic Requirements (GR) standards issued by TEC.
Communication or networking equipment that interfaces with public network or wide area network (WAN) services. Common telecommunication network interfaces include T1/ E1, ISDN BRI, ISDN PRI, ADSL, serial and analog PSTN, etc.

- Send the test samples and technical documents to our laboratory;
- Perform pre-testing at our laboratory;
- Send the test samples to TEC lab in India for finial testing;
- TEC lab will test the product and issue a test report;
- TEC review the documents and test report and completes the registration.
TEC certification is valid for 10 years.
- MTCTE account can only be registered by local Indian OEM manufacturer and local Indian representatives;
- The product is required to be tested in local laboratories in India and do not accept overseas laboratory test reports;
- The type of certification applied for will be different for different products and the cost will also be different;
- After the certification is completed, the product needs to be marked with the TEC label and related information;
- A TEC certificate can only include 10 models, including the main test model & series model.
