On July 9, 2024, TÜV Rheinland Greater China, an international independent third-party testing, inspection, and certification body, and the Ningbo Institute of Product and Food Quality Inspection (Ningbo IPFQI) held the unveiling ceremony for the “Healthy Lighting Joint Laboratory.” Concurrently, the two parties signed a strategic cooperation agreement, integrating their respective resources and advantages to engage in in-depth cooperation on lighting product testing and certification, jointly developing the market to promote the high-quality development of the lighting industry. At the same time, TÜV Rheinland awarded the visual care system certification and global eye protection certification to two floor lamps (models: ML-L120A-BS and ML-L150A-AS) from Gongniu Optoelectronics Technology Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Gongniu Group.

Unveiling of the “healthy lighting joint laboratory”
The Healthy Lighting Joint Laboratory, jointly created by TÜV Rheinland and Ningbo IPFQI, includes a standard classroom setting, a customized lighting service R&D workshop, and seven real home scenarios of varying sizes.
Ren Hongping stated, “Healthy lighting has become an important trend in the design and development of lighting products. The joint establishment of the industry’s first healthy lighting laboratory by Ningbo IPFQI and TÜV Rheinland marks a new phase in international cooperation in the fields of standardization and quality inspection. It will provide more professional and innovative testing services for lighting product manufacturers, ensuring the health and safety of lighting products and protecting consumers’ visual health.”

Gongniu floor lamps receive TÜV Rheinland visual care system certification and global eye protection certification
Concurrently, TÜV Rheinland awarded the visual care system certification to the Gongniu ML-L120A-BS floor lamp and the global eye protection certification to the Gongniu ML-L150A-AS floor lamp.
The visual care system certification is a certification service specifically launched by TÜV Rheinland for classroom and learning lighting products. TÜV Rheinland evaluated the Gongniu ML-L120A-BS floor lamp in specific usage scenarios, covering four dimensions: product basic parameters, environmental lighting impact, eye protection technology, and usage guidance, totaling 25 tests.
Meanwhile, TÜV Rheinland conducted a comprehensive evaluation of the main lighting mode and different scene modes of the Gongniu ML-L150A-AS floor lamp in the real home scenarios of the Healthy Lighting Joint Laboratory. The evaluation included four dimensions: basic performance, core lighting parameters, real scene lighting environment assessment, and eye protection technology, totaling more than 30 tests. The results showed that the product’s average illuminance, uniformity of illumination, unified glare value, color rendering index, low blue light, and no flickering all performed excellently, successfully passing TÜV Rheinland’s highest standard requirements in the lighting field—the global eye protection certification.
