1. PSE certification
The PSE certification is a mandatory safety and EMC approval for electrical products sold on the Japanese market. The applicable law is the DENAN Act (Electrical Appliance and Material Safety Act) of Japan. The Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) is the responsible authority for the PSE Certification.
457 product categories have been designated pursuant to the DENAN act (as of December 2018). Under the Act, electrical products are divided into two categories: Specified Electrical Products (totally 116 products) and Non-Specified Electrical Products (totally 341 products). Specified Electrical Products must display the diamond PSE mark while Non-Specified Electrical Products must be marked with the circle PSE mark.

The requirements for the test samples varies depend on the standard applied for and the certification body. If there is CB certification, 5pcs test samples are required, otherwise, 10pcs.

- Send the technical documents to us for evaluation;
- Mengeluarkan sebut harga: jurutera kami akan menilai piawaian yang berkenaan, masa ujian yang diperlukan dan kos;
- Settle the payment and send the test samples to our laboratory;
- Perform testing;
- A PSE certificate will be issued after on-site factory inspection.
The diamond PSE certificate have different period of validity depending on the product, generally for 3 years, 5 years and 7 years. The round PSE mark is not a certificate and have no period of validity, it is usually self-declared by the factory or a test report issued by a third-party laboratory/certification body.
3. Factory inspection
The diamond PSE mark: factory inspection is required, no annual audit. There is no factory inspection requirements for the circle PSE certification.
